When I met Rowena for the first time the morning of her wedding, she embraced me in a giant hug and said “We’re so happy to have you here!!” She continued throughout the day, checking in on me so many times with “Are you having fun? We want to make sure you’re having fun!” She also warned me during the getting ready time that she and Tim might not want any portraits. This makes me a little uncomfortable, but in that case I know how important documentary images are to the couple (and of course did get a few portraits!).
To Rowena and Tim, the most important part of their day was being their with their kids. This was evident both during the preparations for the ceremony and when they each walked down the aisle with their respective children. I kept this in mind all day and did my best to incorporate the kids into as many shots with their parents as possible.
The Royal Oaks Country Club was just a perfect place for a wedding. It was nice, as members, for Tim and Rowena to have the option to use the venue for their wedding! The ceremony site was nestled below the tallest evergreens, the reception was held in a beautiful ballroom (made gorgeous by Mani Boatright of Copper Blossom Design!), and the dancing was held just outside under a tent that flanked the putting green. The weather was just perfect, as well!
