I think Hannah and Mason’s might be the happiest wedding that I have ever photographed. I was with the bridesmaids for many hours as they got ready and as I looked back through the photos, everybody had an ear-to-ear smile during almost that entire time. Their mouths must have been sore the next morning. All weddings are happy affairs, but this one just took it to another level.
This was my first wedding at the aptly named Big Yellow Barn near Bozeman. It is all original, save 3-4 pieces of wood, and it’s just huge and beautiful. The Barn is surrounded by almost nothing but agriculture and, just a little to the east, the Bridger Mountains. It’s a perfectly serene location for a Montana wedding.
One of the questions I ask couples prior to their wedding is “why are you choosing to get married in Montana?” I felt that Hannah and Mason’s answer was just right for this question (and is pretty similar to many of my couples who are having destination weddings here!): “Mason grew up Montana, and it is an important part of Mason’s past. Hannah had never been until she met Mason. We feel it’s not a place people travel unless they have a reason to, and we wanted to give that reason to our friends and family to show them the beauty Montana has to offer.”
