Jacquelyn and Dustin came all the way from Minnesota for an elopement in front of the Tetons, so it was a little sad when smoke from the northern California fires moved into the valley the day before. We started early and were able to see the mountains for their first look, but once the sun rose the haze thickened. In hopes of getting some mountains for their portraits, we drove closer on the inland road of the park and ended up getting one of my all-time favorite portraits (last photo below). The mountains were big and bold as we’re used to seeing, but that soft haze made for a beautifully moody atmosphere.
