Before the ceremony Gina’s dad walked me down to the ceremony site on his property and showed me the path to the creek he’s been mowing since Gina was young. He told me that Gina has always told him that when she gets married, she wanted it to be right along that path.
After her own winding path that included ten years together with Emmett and an engagement that happened on the first day of Covid shutdown, Gina found herself back along this path with all her (and Emmett’s) favorite family and friends. It was quiet, remote, and, I daresay, a perfect fit for Gina and Emmett’s personalities. The kids found a way to ruin their wedding clothes while playing in the creek, a herd of elk came out at dusk, and important grandmothers were able to attend. It was a perfect day, full of happiness and fun.
