Audrey and Aaron’s marriage happened surrounded by all of their friends having the time of their lives. Most everybody slept on site at the Darrell Fenner 4-H Camp on Loon Lake in Bigfork, Montana. Many of them were in tents and all of them were feeling very relaxed! I know because when I showed up most people were in swim shorts. 🙂 We spent the first few hours of the day swimming, kayaking, plastic log rolling, and throwing the ball for a chocolate lab. Audrey asked for lots of candids and this was the perfect setting for some good ones! Audrey and her ladies got ready in a cabin while Aaron and his guys got ready in the Boys bathroom in the basement of the main lodge. I couldn’t have asked for a more authentic summer camp style experience! The wedding was in a beautiful patch of ground with the lake as a backdrop, then we all feasted on meat Audrey’s uncle had been smoking the better part of the day (I think he said he started at 2 or 3am?!?. There were some awesome toasts, some really great portraits at sunset, then some outdoor and indoor dancing. But most of all, a relaxing and beautiful day for everybody in attendance. It was one of the most casual, stress-free weddings I’ve attended and I loved it! I only wished I could’ve gotten in the water.
I want to include the story of how Audrey and Aaron met because this is just the best:
“Aaron and I actually met in a dive bar on a Tuesday night. I came down to visit my friend who was working because she had texted me saying it was slow and I should come down and talk to her. By the time I showed up, it had gotten busy again. I think she was a little flustered and she said,”Hey, you should go down and talk to my friend Aaron. I told him about you and he is waiting to meet you.” So, I went down to his end of the bar and said,”Hey! So, you have been waiting to meet me?” He rolled with it. Heather had not told him a thing and he went with it. Funny thing is Heather had just barely met him because he was playing in a band with her boyfriend. So, Aaron’s guard was down because he thought I was hitting on him and my guard was down because I thought it was this warm friends type intro, nothing to it. And we hit it off. We ramped up into a relationship pretty much within the first two weeks and been going strong since! With just one little hiccup at month three but, in hindsight, good for us to get the hiccup out of the way in the very beginning. ”
