One of the things I love most about weddings is listening to the vows. Many of the couples who hire me write their own vows and I’m always blown away by what I hear. I don’t remember Audrey and Chenthu’s vows, but here is a clip taken from their website that will give you insight into how thoughtful they each are:
“It took me three dates and six days to tell her that I loved her. She was more deliberate. This is a microcosm of our relationship. I was the fast thinking, fast talking, impulsive Yin and she was my calm, collected, deliberate Yang. Over time the best parts of both of us started showing up in the other. I started meticulously planning our road trips and vacations and she started making peace with random unplanned adventures. On several trips to Estes Park and family vacations to Florida, Montana, and Hawaii I started seeing the future that I could never imagine until she walked into my life.”
Audrey and Chenthu attended a wedding I photographed a few years ago in Glacier for friends of theirs. They liked my style and, fortunately, they are very loyal to people they trust because nearly two years ago they reached out to tell me they’d become engaged and intended to hire me for this year’s wedding, just as soon as they were allowed to book their venue (which couldn’t happen until January 1st of last year – I received their phone call about 10am on January 1st!). So they’ve been in my life for many years and this was one of the most anticipated weddings I’ve ever had.
Audrey and Chenthu decided on the Historic Crag’s Lodge in Estes Park as their wedding venue because they came there every spring break during graduate school. Did I mention they are loyal to what they like? Preceding the wedding was a Hindu ceremony on Friday near Denver – this can be seen in the slideshow, which is definitely worth a watch.
