Heidi and Dylan’s Big Sky Resort wedding is one that is hard for me to find words for (this is why we have photography!). It was one of those weddings where everything falls into place from beginning to end. The light, location, and emotion were all perfect and the timeline allowed us to take advantage of everything.
Heidi and Dylan’s ceremony was at Everett’s 8800, which is up the mountain from Big Sky Resort’s base area. I am told this was only the second wedding ceremony ever held at Everett’s, probably because everybody has to take the lift to the ceremony site! There are a lot of weddings in Big Sky so I really wanted to take advantage of our unique ability to take creative portraits from a rare perspective higher up on the mountain. I tried my best to incorporate views of both Lone Peak and the Spanish Peaks as a thunderstorm rolled through in the background (unbeknownst to us, the Resort staff were shuttling all the guests back down the lift because of the incoming lightning). Then, after I thought I’d already killed it with creatives, we were gifted a gorgeous rainbow in front of the Spanish Peaks at sunset. I grabbed the couple and we made a magical, once-in-a-lifetime image.
You will see a lot of emotion in these images, as well. There were some heavy moments, which are hopefully self-explanatory in the images, but also just regular ole’ ‘madly-in-love-with-each-other’ feelings. I know Dylan is madly in love with Heidi, but she certainly exhibits her feelings more obviously. 🙂
