This was one of the most epic weddings of my career, one that none of us in attendance will forget. Hayden and Bryce rented out the entire Avon Hotel in Silverton for themselves and guests, so we started there early. We were supposed to head upstream for a riverside breakfast burrito party, but it was snowing too hard so we did it inside. Hayden and Bryce met while rafting a river and both have strong roots in the sport, so doing a raft trip on wedding day was so important that they chose their venue specifically for this (they’re from Arizona, so this was as destination wedding). The water was cold and so was the snow, so they wore drysuits and Hayden slipped a dress over top to show her spirit. Originally they’d hoped to raft into the ceremony, doing hair and makeup on a gravel bar along the way, but it was far too cold this day for that plan. In the afternoon we all gathered at the Kendall Mountain Ski Area for the ceremony, then had an unbelievable costume dance party, perhaps inspired by their friends, Marina and Tor, whose wedding they met me at in Missoula last fall?
