Monique + Spencer’s Lone Mountain Ranch Wedding

My favorite “how we met” story is Monique and Spencer’s: “Spencer and I met at a bar in New Orleans called the bulldog. He saw me across the bar and asked me to buy him a drink. I asked him what possessed him to think that I would do that. He convinced me with flattery and later doubled-down to get me to ask him on our first date.”
Monique and Spencer’s path to Montana is a bit random, but quite serendipitous as it ended in their wedding location. They had some Covid quarantine complications that left them unable to visit family during a holiday, and instead Monique found herself looking for a winter wonderland where she could go on a horseback ride (which she also did wedding morning). In Monique’s words, “We jumped on it, thinking it would be a desperate grasp at sanity, only to realize how special, magical, surreal, and perfect that place is. It was an amazing and unexpected escape and offered us the revival we needed to keep going.”
The magic of Montana continued by hosting Monique and Spencer’s wedding. We started early, with the two of them sharing coffee together and scoping out the ceremony site on the ridge where they shared private vows. Afterwards Monique went on a horseback ride while Spencer spent some time with his parents. Threatening mid-morning rain set the rain plan in motion, but fortunately the evening was clear enough for ridge top portraits in the sunset light. The Tiny Band killed the dance floor while an uncle took the drums briefly and Monique and her father sang a song for the crowd.
