I supply a list of questions prior to every wedding in hopes of learning more about my couples and what is most meaningful to them at their weddings. As I often talk about during my consult calls, every wedding with guests is a conscious choice to invite some of your favorite family and friends and there are reasons they make a trip all the way to Montana to be with you. For Julia and Kirt, their list was a nice mix both family and friends – enough to keep the dance floor moving, but not so many that they couldn’t spend time with them all. And one line stuck out to me throughout the day: “Kirt’s ten-year-old son, Tanner, would ‘be the most special guest’.” Kids often play a role but it was apparent Tanner’s importance was elevated, to the point that he gave a powerful reading during the ceremony and held hands with Julia and Kirt during the recessional. I tried to give extra attention to interactions with Tanner, so you’ll see a lot of him throughout this slideshow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was a classically beautiful Montana summer evening. The Gallatin river was flowing a few feet away, the draft horses were feeding in the neighboring pasture, and Julia and Kirt’s favorite people danced the night away with them. It’s hard to think of a more perfect night for committing to one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
