Ryan and Rebecca planned their Glacier Park Elopement almost exclusively around what would be best for photography. Ryan is an amateur photographer and so wanted to make sure to put all the cards in my favor. Lake McDonald elopements are pretty common in Glacier National Park, but usually they are held mid-afternoon which is easiest for guests for terrible for photography. Ryan and Rebecca had their emotional and touching ceremony at 7am, though, and I could not have asked for better light. The water was flat as glass, there was a fine mist across the lake, and the sun rose mere minutes before they read their vows amidst crying family and friends. Not only that, but we didn't have to deal with peeping tourists or paddle boarders.
If you are looking to plan an elopement in Glacier Park, I would highly recommend putting some thought into the time of day of your ceremony. Most couples who choose to marry in Glacier have come a long way to do it, so they might as well prioritize their photography as that is what will live with them well beyond their wedding day.
