At a lot of the wedding ceremonies I photograph the vows are written by the couples themselves and they are very touching. Ryan and Caroline’s wedding was no exception and Ryan’s vows had the audience in both laughter and tears. For this photo I was behind Ryan, choosing to photograph the reactions instead of the actions, which is usually the angle I choose. Reactions are where the best emotion exists and that makes the best photos. In this case Caroline and all her bridesmaids were engrossed in Ryan’s vows and reacting amazingly. In focus here is Caroline’s sister, who was also her maid of honor. And what makes this such a great photo is that the face of every woman in the frame can be seen and they all have great expressions. It’s hard to get two or three good expressions in a photo, but usually there are one or two dead expressions that drag the photo down. In this case, though, everybody is helping bring it together.
