Once the bison have crossed out of Yellowstone National Park, tribal hunters are allowed to haze them towards the legal shooting zone. The hunt has a strong law enforcement presence to ensure the rules are followed.
In this photo the legal hunting zone is about 200 yards to the right of the road. When this herd was hazed they split, with some running back into the Park while the others moved towards the shooting zone.
